Spiritual Lessons

While shooting “KidsLoveAnimals.com’s African Safari” in Samburu, we got word on our CB radio that another group had spotted a leopard. For the next several days we searched high and low in hope of seeing a leopard too.
On our final day, as we were leaving the park, I surrendered my hope of ever seeing a leopard in Samburu. Then a member in our party asked our driver to stop so that he could change the film in his camera. As we sat changing our film and securing our gear for a long drive, our driver glanced off to his right and spotted a leopard sitting less than fifty feet from us on a termite mound.
I learned an important spiritual lesson from the leopard that day and it goes like this; “Sometimes you have to surrender your will, to make room for the rewards that your calling has planned for you.”
As I look back on my life, God has been preparing me for this project for a long time. From my parents who gave me an appreciation for nature, travel and photography, through my career working in film and television, to surrendering my Tinsel Town dreams to be a stay at home parent, these experiences have shown me the value of beauty, children and animals.
My journey to creating Kidsloveanimals.com has been like a page out of an “Oprah Show” script to say the least.
